Ford Field
In the heart of Detroit’s sports district, this venue is home to the NFL’s Detroit Lions. Ford Field also features other sporting events, as well as concerts, banquets and more.
Comerica Park
Catch the Detroit Tigers baseball team at this modern ballpark, located next to Ford Field. It includes a sunken playing field, kid-friendly rides and a great view of downtown.
Joe Louis Arena
Home of the Detroit Red Wings, the Joe Louis Arena is Detroit’s largest indoor venue. The arena also hosts concerts, ice shows, figure skating exhibitions and other family events.
Hart Plaza
This open , 14-acre park is located downtown along the Detroit River. Festivals and other outdoor events are often held in the park, which also features the historic Horace E. Dodge and Son Memorial Fountain.
Walter P. Chrysler Museum
This museum is dedicated to automotive history and includes interactive exhibits, educational films and impeccable preserved cars. Special events and exhibits are also held throughout the year.
Detroit Institute of Arts
Established in 1885, the museum had been a part of Detroit for more than a century. It features more than 100 galleries an auditorium and recital hall, an art reference library, a café and a gift shop.
Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village
Head southwest to Dearborn and the Henry Ford Museum – America’s greatest history attraction. The 12-acre museum features world-renowned treasures such as the limousine in which JFK was assassinated, Edgar Allen Poes desk and George Washington’s camp bed.
The Village is home to historic homes (such as the Wright Brothers work shop) as well as horse-drawn carriage rides, parades and many special events.
Next, check out the NEW Ford Rouge factory Tours. Go inside one of the largest industrial complexes in the word as you witness the production of the Ford F-150 pickup truck.
Located about five miles north of the Village is the Henry Ford Estate, the former house of Henry Ford and wife Clara. This national historic landmark is located on beautifully landscaped grounds. The mansion clearly shows the wealth of this automotive pioneer.
Automotive Hall of Fame
Visit the Automotive Hall of Fame, located next door to the Henry Ford Museum. The Hall of Fame celebrates the people behind the automotive industry. Hours: Daily 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission fee charged.
Greektown
Have dinner at one of the many restaurant selections in Greektown – one of Detroit’s most famous districts. Outstanding Greek restaurants are blended with many other restaurant selections. This festive and lively street is a must for first-time visitors.
Motown
Grand Boulevard – the famed boulevard where Motown was born. Tour Hitsville USA and the Motown Museum to see where it all began for such stars as Diana Ross and the Supremes, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye.
Windsor, Ontario, Canada
Explore another country while in the Motor City. Head south into Canada – yes, south. Enter Canada over the Ambassador Bridge or through the Detroit Windsor Tunnel. Once in Windsor visit the many excellent restaurants, shops and riverside parks located along the waterfront with spectacular views of the downtown Detroit skyline.
Cranbrook
Beyond its classrooms, gardens, institute of science, and art museum. Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills has touched a myriad of aspects of American life during the last century. From the St/ Louis arch and Dulles International airport, designed by former Cranbrook academy of art faculty member Eero Saarinen, to the Massachusetts capitol where school alumnus Mitt Romney presides as Governor, Cranbrook and its people are everywhere.
Meadowbrook Hall and Meadowbrook Theatre

Cobo Hall is the Detroit areas world class meeting and convention center. With 2.4 million square feet, the Cobo Exhibition and Conference Center features over 80 meeting rooms that are equipped to accommodate up to 10,000 attendees.
DTE Energy Music Theatre/Pine Knob
The DTE Energy Music Theatre was voted the number 1 outdoor theatre in 2001. Here, visitors will find a variety of concerts and shows throughout the year.
The Palace of Auburn Hills
